Big ideas, real impact.

A step-change in advanced foam composite manufacturing processes.

Foamie’s technology represents a step-change in advanced foam composite design - combining material innovation, manufacturing efficiency and true recyclability in a way not currently achieved by prior industry attempts.

Foamie Pty Ltd’s Patent pending technology precisely moulds any thermoplastic component - such as a surfboard’s fin, finbox, leash anchor, reinforcing skin or structural beam - and permanently embeds the component with a mechanical and molecular bond to the thermoplastic foam body of a similar polymeric composition.

This revolutionary innovation is paramount to durability, design, performance and recyclability, and can be applied to any foam composite product design.

The result is a multi-component, mono-polymer thermoplastic foam composite product that reacts to impacts and loads as a unified structure, and can be efficiently and mechanically recycled into open and closed (circular) recycling streams at the end-of-life.

  • Most surfboards—and foam composites used across industries like wind energy and automotive—are made from multiple materials permanently bonded together.
That makes them expensive to manufacture, prone to failure, and almost impossible to recycle.

As a result, millions of composite products end up in landfill every year.

1.3 - 2.4 million volumetric tonnes of surfboard waste are destined for landfill, energy recovery, or pollution. For comparison, 0.15 million volumetric tonnes of used takeaway coffee cup waste is generated in Australia yearly.

Traditional linear “take-make-waste” systems are resource intensive and contribute to roughly 45% of global greenhouse emissions.

  • Using our novel manufacturing technology we have invented a mono-polymer foam composite —a single, unified material instead of a layered structure.

The result is a product that is:

    • Stronger and more durable,

    • Faster and cheaper to manufacture,

    • And critically, fully recyclable at end-of-life.

  • Our technology delivers benefits across:

    • Environmental: Fully recyclable composites, reducing landfill and emissions.

    • Economic: Up to 49% cost reduction enables competitive local manufacturing.

    • Social: Meets growing demand for sustainable, high-performance products.
